State Rep. Didech Statement on HB 3360
During this year’s lame duck session, the General Assembly approved HB 3360 which is now awaiting action by the governor. Since then, I have had several conversations with both the proponents and opponents of this legislation. Both parties make compelling points and I believe it is appropriate for the legislature to give its attention to this subject matter. Unfortunately, HB 3360 was considered on an unusually short timetable during the lame duck session which I do not believe provided a sufficient opportunity for all stakeholders to have their voices heard before the votes on this legislation were taken. I believe that the best course of action going forward would be for the governor to veto this bill so this important subject matter can be more sufficiently vetted by the legislature under a new speaker of the house before final action is taken.
